Retaining Walls
Foothill lots come with grade, and grade needs to be held properly. We build segmental block, concrete, and seat walls with the parts you don't see done right: compacted footing or base course, gravel backfill, and drainage behind the wall so winter water pressure never gets a chance to push it over.
Where height or surcharge requires engineering and permits, we coordinate that instead of pretending it doesn't apply.
Scope
What’s included
- Layout and grade measurement
- Engineering and permit coordination when wall height or loading requires it
- Excavation and compacted base or footing
- Block, concrete, or veneer wall construction
- Drain rock, filter fabric, and a drain line behind the wall
- Backfill, compaction, and finish grading
Process
How it works
Site visit and measurement
We measure the grade change, look at what the wall needs to hold back, and flag anything that triggers engineering.
Design and proposal
Wall type, height, alignment, and materials in a written scope — including the drainage detail behind the wall.
Excavation and base
Cut, footing or compacted base course, checked for level.
The build
Courses up with drainage installed as we go, caps set, backfill compacted in lifts.
Finish
Final grading tied into the wall and a cleaned-up site.
Service area
We serve greater El Dorado County and Sacramento County — Placerville, Cameron Park, Shingle Springs, El Dorado Hills, Folsom, Rancho Cordova, Sacramento, and the communities between.
